Some experienced detectorists are willing to share their best hunting grounds. Go to places where you’re more likely to find objects such as the beach or a park, and do your research online. Lots of debris lodges beneath the coil cover such as soil, stones, sand, and even a build-up of moisture.
A full range of standard and bespoke-designed conveyor mounted metal detector solutions for contamination detection in food and beverage product applications. It’s got pretty much everything you need for successful detecting such as a large coil, adjustable frequency, and easy-to-switch search modes for ‘coins’ or ‘gold’. Thanks to many years of in-depth research in the field of Metal Detection, CEIA has established itself as a primary manufacturer of high-performance Ground Search Metal Detectors. Garrett Ace 250: Great for gold and other treasure hunting, this model is comfortable yet easy to use. The Eriez MetAlarm Model VC Metal Detector offers an all-in-one unit including search coil and metal-free section.
Take off the coil cover and give it a really good clean. That’s a much bigger problem because salt water will corrode the delicate components. Put the whole detector somewhere warm and dry and see if that is enough to dry out the components. Turn down the sensitivity if its stuck on high, check for nearby power lines, radio stations or another detectorist. Move away accordingly.
A smaller coil would see less of the ground, process less ground signals and allow you to increase your sensitivity to the point where you could be getting the same depth as you would with the larger coil in neutral ground. While large coils get better depth, they also see more of the ground which means your detector has to process more signals in mineralized soil which can lead to very bad falsing, poor target ID and missed targets. The only real con to using a multi-frequency machine on the beach is that you won’t get the type of depth you would with a PI – although it will still be excellent.
Warranty – You can be really confident putting this machine through its paces here with the rock solid guarantee that Garrett offer. Water submersible coil – This is a real game changer when it comes to usability. Enter the Garrett AT Pro which comes highly recommended to anybody who we’ve spoken to who actually use this product, it looks the part too.
Contamination of food by metal shards from broken processing machinery during the manufacturing process is a major safety issue in the food industry. Industrial metal detectors are used in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, textile, garment, plastics, chemicals, lumber, mining, and packaging industries. Many dedicated beach hunters also familiarize themselves with tide movements and beach erosion.
For example, metal detectorist clubs arrange hunts and compete against each other in time trials, they hold show-and tell-meetings, and swap tips on internet forums. We’ve been practicing for this all our lives with Easter eggs hunts and now as grown-ups, we can continue the treasure hunting fun.
DD searchcoil cover; volume-control ClearSound Easy Stow headphones; and a new ACE Environmental Cover-up to protect the control box from rain, dust, and mud. Sorry, we were unable to connect with Capital One at this time.
Walking over rough ground is hard work and you’re likely to be out there a while. A pinpointer also means you don’t need to shove a trowel into the ground. Once a target is roughly located, use a pinpointer to find out exactly where it is.
Reviewers say the target reading depth accuracy is around 8 inches for small objects like coins but if you want to go deeper the machine is perfectly capable – though its target reading accuracy lessens. High frequency simply provides better gold detection and a better chance of paying off your mortgage early.

The age of the object: things that have been buried a long time are more likely to have oxidized or corroded, making them harder to find. The magnetic field makes electricity flow around the receiver coil and up into the receiver circuit (blue) at the top, making a loudspeaker buzz and alerting you you’ve found something. The magnetic field cuts through the receiver coil (blue) moving about up above it.
